Company History

Sungear was founded in 1982 by John Gizicki. Building off John’s expertise in gear manufacturing, Sungear quickly gained a reputation for quality, precision, and technical achievements in prototype development. As demand for their precision gear components increased, Sungear expanded its capabilities beyond R&D and prototypes, and into full production quantities.

In order to expand the depth and expertise of the Company’s management team, Eugene Ingrao joined Sungear in 1995, and became President in 1997. Mr. Ingrao brought over 40 years of gear component manufacturing and quality control experience.

Today, Sungear is well respected in the industry for our ability to manufacture the most complex gear components. Our gear products include a wide range of internal and external gears, spur and helical gears, as well as related gearing accessories such as splines and shafts. Our gear products are incorporated in a number of major aerospace and defense platforms including the Boeing 737, the F-18 hornet, B-2 Stealth Bomber, and the V-22 Osprey to name a few.
